According to source, ExpressWifi by Facebook is a new program that lets phone owners purchase data from local internet service providers. Effectively, Facebook is providing software that helps local ISPs and entrepreneurs sell and provide internet service in rural areas, which can be accessed via public Wi-Fi hotspots.
Express Wi-Fi by Facebook is a new program that lets phone owners purchase data from local internet service providers. Their data are very cheap, compared to prevailing internet rates. Subscribers can get 5GB monthly for just N1,600. Or 100 MB for just N40.00 for a day.
This service is currently in progress here in Lagos, Nigeria and it will be deployed across the country eventually, as soon as the first phase which is centred around Lagos is completed.
Incase you don't know, this same ExpressWifi was firstly introduced in India last month and Nigeria is the second in list where ExpressWifi by Facebook is been introduced.
